Notes: Attribution - sourced from Lausanne, only edition published under this title. Bousquet's preface (pp. ix-x) tells us that there was an edition produced in Amsterdam in 1751. He decided to make a new edition and therefore contacted Lord Lyttleton, who gave Bousquet his approbation, and the original translator, Jean Deschamps, gave Bousquet extensive notes, amendments and additions. The previous edition had a slightly different title, for Bosquet says he was the first to use the word 'Considerations' in the title. Bousquet also mentions a 1754 Parisian translation that he considered more elegant but less faithful to the original text.
