Notes: Attribution - supplied by Grasset and recorded under the sub-title 'Supplément aux Questions'. This work was the eighth and final volume of Grasset's edition of the 'Questions sur l'Encyclopédie' reissued under a new title and title-page bearing the date of publication 1776. The final page of the edition even carries the wording 'Fin du tome VIII'. The 'Questions sur l'Encyclopédie' itself formed vols 40-47 of Grasset's 'Collection complette des oeuvres de Mr. de Voltaire,' and were originally published in 1775. The articles in this volume ranged from 'Abbe' to 'Vertu', but are not the same material as found in the 'Supplément' at the end of the 1772 STN edition of the 'Questions sur l'Encyclopédie', which formed the last part of volume IX. Although the STN first received copies of 'La Raison par alphabet' in October 1775, it was standard practice in the final months of one year to issue works bearing the next year's date. 'La Raison par alphabet' is not recorded in Biblos 18.
