A 1781 edition with a London imprint (also 2 parts) survives in the British librar's collections and Strasbourg. N.B. BPUN, Ms1231, 'Note Séparée' 1781 gives 2 part (1781), in-8°. Some library records give as 12o.

LFB Catalogue 1787
STN Catalogue 1785
Notes: Attribution - known STN edition. After Schmidt, 'Liste des impressions' and transactions data this was a commissioned edition for Jonas Fauche. Edition details not fully resolved. There are strong hints that the STN sold their eight volume set bound in 4 vols. The STN Catalogue 1785 refers to a four volume edition as 'le même livre 8 [i.e. in-8°]. 4 vol. qui contiennent tout ce qu'il y a dans l'édition en 8 volumes', but no such edition has been identified. A part sale of a 4 vol. set to Poincot on 20 June 1783 is recorded as 'les 4 premiers cahiers de tome 3 & 4 de la petite edition', suggesting an edition in which these two volumes were bound together as one. Presumably the rest of the set also comprised 'double volumes', which is consistent with the catalogue entry. Because edition history for this superbook is so uncertain, no 'Assumed printings' have been recorded.

STN Catalogue 1785
Notes: Attribution - '1783' date of publication is taken from STN catalogue 1785, but this is the only extant 8 volume 'Amsterdam' edition identified. Date on title page, pagination and page layouts confirm that the first four volumes of this edition are the 1782 STN edition; the final four volumes, dated 1783, contained new material. The first in transaction for vols 5-8, recording 500 copies received from Jonas Fauche, Ch. S. Favre et cie. on 18 June 1783, suggests that Fauche and Favre probably printed the final volumes of the set, but as in transactions for this period are mostly lacking, this remains conjecture.

Publication: n.pl. [Neuchâtel]: [Société Typographique de Neuchâtel], [1782]
Details: 2 volumes, in-8°
Notes: Attribution - edition not identified. Timing of printing and order suggests that it was printed alongside the four volume 'Amsterdam' STN edition for Fauche, from the same print formes, possibly onto smaller format paper, or merely the same edition bound in two volumes rather than four. As STN accounted for it separately, it is treated as a separate edition here. N.B. Described as '2nd Neuchatel edition for Fauche'.
