Notes: Attribution - catalogue and MS1007 information. First part of the work a loose translation of 'La Matrone d'Ephèse' by Petronius after BnF catalogue. The second half, with separate pagination and title page, is entitled 'Tchouang-Tse et Tien, histoire chinoise' and is a translation [NB. Martin et al., 'Bibliographie du genre romanesque' implies that it is a genuine one] by father Jean-Baptiste du Halde, which had already appeared in his 'Description de l'Empire de la Chine' (1735) and in the 'Journal étranger'.
