Editions:

Full title: Mémoires justificatifs de la comtesse de Valois de La Motte
Edition type (by origin): Place of publication unknown
Author(s): La Motte, Jeanne de Saint-Rémy de Valois [comtesse de]
Language(s): French
Publication: London [?], 1789
Details: 3 volumes, in-18°
Notes: Attribution - edition not identified, several produced. No three volume edition is known. The third volume was sourced separately from the first two volumes and was presumably either the spurious 'Second Mémoire justificatif de la Comtesse de la Motte' (London, 1789) or equally spurious 'La Reine dévoilée, ou supplément au Mémoire de Mde la comtesse de La Motte' (London, 1789). Textual and other evidence suggests that neither work was written by the countess. A second, posthumously published version of the Countess's memoirs appeared in 1791, a year after the STN transactions recorded. See Burrows, 'Blackmail, Scandal, and Revolution.'
